Seahawks issue statement calling Marshawn Lynch allegations 'bogus'

The Seattle Seahawks released a statement Tuesday calling the assault accusations against running back Marshawn Lynch "bogus." "While we maintain the utmost respect for the investigative process, after speaking with Marshawn, we are comfortable these accusations are bogus," the full statement read.

The Seattle Seahawks released a statement Tuesday calling the assault accusations against running back Marshawn Lynch "bogus."

"While we maintain the utmost respect for the investigative process, after speaking with Marshawn, we are comfortable these accusations are bogus," the full statement read.

Police in suburban Seattle announced Monday they were investigating a possible assault involving Lynch.

The police said the incident did not involve domestic or sexual assault. The department said it was in the process of gathering the facts of the case, "including verifying whether or not Mr. Lynch was in fact involved."
