Watson's older brother Benjamin plays for the Saints.

The younger Watson went undrafted out of NC State this year. He signed with the Patriots in May, but was released on Monday. Watson played four seasons for the Wolfpack. He missed the entire 2011 season after undergoing heart surgery, but returned to catch 22 passes in 2012.

The Cowboys have five other tight ends on their roster: Gavin Escobar, James Hanna,  Jordan Najvar, Dallas Walker and Jason Witten.
