Saints linebacker Junior Galette said on Wednesday that it was the "best day in my life" after signing a four-year extension announced earlier in the day. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network tweeted that the deal is worth $41.5 million.

The 26-year-old went undrafted in 2010 but was signed by New Orleans before the regular season that year. His old deal took him through 2015 but his new contract now guarantees him $23 million, according to Rapoport.

Galette had a breakout year last season, registering 12 sacks. The Saints kickoff the regular season against the Falcons on Sunday in Atlanta.
