Jets quarterback Geno Smith apologized for cursing out a fan after New York's 24-17 loss at home to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, according to media reports

As he was walking off the field, a fan reportedly directed an insult at Smith, to which the second-year player responded by saying to the fan, "f--- you."

Niners vets reportedly upset with Jim Harbaugh

Smith went 17-of-33 with 209 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception.

The crowd began a chant of "We want [Michael] Vick" during the game but head coach Rex Ryan said he's not replacing Smith, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

"I'm not gonna replace him. I feel good about Geno, and again, I think he's gonna get it turned. He's a tough, resilient young man, and I think we're gonna win."

The Jets dropped to 1-3 on the day and play next on Sunday in San Diego against the Chargers.
