New York Giants' LB Jon Beason will sit Sunday against the Falcons due to a foot injury, according to NFL Network's Kim Jones.

Beason tore a ligament and fractured the sesamoid bone in his right foot in an OTA practice in June, but opted against surgery. He reaggravated the injury in New York's Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, and has missed the last two games.

“He’ll probably have to fight through something like this for the duration, let’s put it that way,” Giants' head coach Tom Coughlin told the New YorkPostback in September. “Here’s a guy that’s tough and gritty, and he’ll go out there as soon as he can.”

Beason, 29, was acquired from the Carolina Panthers in a trade last October. He has eight tackles in his two games this season.
