Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Wednesday that he expects quarterback Robert Griffin III to return by Week 11.

Gruden "would guarantee" Griffin would return by the team's game against the Buccaneers "most likely, unless something happens between now and then,” Gruden said on SiriusXM Radio, according to The Washington Post

Griffin has been sidelined since dislocating his ankle in Week 2. The team had previously declined to set a timeline for his return.

Griffin practiced on Oct. 15 for the first time since the injury, but will not play on Monday against the Cowboys unless he is 100 percent healthy, Gruden said earlier this week.

Kirk Cousins started the last five games for Washington, but will not start against the Cowboys. Gruden plans to start Colt McCoy instead.

McCoy replaced Cousins in last week's game against the Titans and led a second half comeback.

Washington is 2-5 this season, in last place in the NFC East.
