Update: Doctors diagnosed Fitzpatrick with a leg fracture and he is out for the remainder of the season, according to FoxSports' Alex Marvez

Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was carted off the field Sunday with an apparent leg injury during the second quarter of Houston's game against the Indianapolis Colts. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The quarterback was attempting to escape two defenders, but was "rolled up on," according to Rotoworld. His leg was put in an air cast. Doctors were holding his leg above the ankle, potentially suggesting a tibia injury, according toHouston Chronicle reporter John McClain.

Tom Savage, a rookie drafted in the fourth-round this year out of Pittsburgh, replaced Fitzpatrick. The Texans are already without quarterback Ryan Mallett, who is out for the season after sustaining a pectoral injury last month.
