Report: Browns called Rex Grossman, couldn't work out logistics
The Cleveland Browns called free agent quarterback Rex Grossman about joining the team for one week, but couldn't work out logistics because of the holidays, reports ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has already been ruled out for the team's season finale against the Baltimore Ravens due to a hamstring injury, and backup quarterback Brian Hoyer could be also out due to a shoulder injury.
Head coach Mike Pettine said rookie Connor Shaw will get "a lot" of first-team reps this week and could start against the Ravens, but that the team would also look into bringing in another quarterback.

Fowler reports that Grossman has his whole family in for the holidays, creating the logistical issues.
Grossman spent the preseason with the Browns before being cut on Aug. 31. The former Chicago Bears quarterback last played in an NFL game in 2011, when he threw for 3,151 yards, 16 touchdowns and 20 interceptions for Washington.
Shaw went undrafted in May before signing with the Browns. In his one preseason game on Aug. 18 against Washington, Shaw went 8-of-9 for 123 yards and one touchdown.
