Report: Titans won't let Buccaneers interview Mike Mularkey
The Tennessee Titans denied a request from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to interview tight end coach Mike Mularkey for their vacant offensive coordinator position, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
The Buccaneers released offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford from his contract last month. Tedford had heart surgery last year and took a medical leave of absence from the team. Quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo called plays this season for Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay finished No. 29 in scoring and No. 30 in yards gained last season. Rookie wide receiver Mike Evans was a bright spot, finishing with 1,051 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

Mularkey, 53, just finished his first season in Tennessee. He has been a head coach for two different teams during his career. He compiled a 14-18 record in 2004 and 2005 with the Buffalo Bills and went 2-14 with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012.
He has also been an offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons. His most successful seasons came in 2001, when the Steelers finished No. 1 in rushing yards, and in 2008, when the Falcons finished No. 2 in rushing yards.
In their first season under head coach Lovie Smith, the Buccaneers finished 2-14. They have the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
