Former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is expected to decide on Wednesday whether to sign with the San Francisco 49ers or return to Arizona, reports ESPN.com’s Adam Schefer.

Dockett was released last week after 11 seasons with the team and Arizona saved $6.8 million in cap space with the move.

ESPN.com’s Ed Werder reported that Dockett visited the 49ers on Monday.

According to the report, the St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks are also interested in Dockett, who did not play last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during training camp.

Dockett, 33, is eligible to sign with any team immediately since he was cut. Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said at time of Dockett's release that they “have been very clear about our feelings for Darnell and our desire to have him back.”

Dockett, a three-time Pro Bowler, has 40.5 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries, seven forced fumbles, four interceptions and 530 tackles in his career.
