Colts waive running back Trent Richardson
The Indianapolis Coltsannounced Thursday that they have waived running back Trent Richardson.
Richardson missed the AFC Championship Game after the Colts suspended him for not telling the team he would be missing a walk-through. He was also set to be suspended for one game next season.
Indianapolis was reportedly frustrated with Richardson due to his accessibility to the team and because he reportedly gained approximately 15 pounds during the season.

It was later reported that the suspension could potentially could allow the Colts to void the final season of Richardson's contract without paying him the $3.184 million in guaranteed money he was set to earn.
Richardson began the season as the Colts' starter but averaged just 3.3 yards per carry over 15 games and saw his role diminish later in the regular season, with Boom Herron seeing an increased workload. He did not play in Indianapolis' divisional round playoff win over the Denver Broncos.
On Tuesday, the Colts signed former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore to a three-year deal.
