Report: Cardinals OL Mike Iupati likely out 6-8 weeks after knee surgery
Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Mike Iupati is likely to have knee surgery this week and miss six to eight weeks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Wednesday that Iupati was having tests on his left knee.
Iupati, 28, signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Cardinals in March. He spent the last five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and was a Pro Bowl selection in each of the past three years. He is listed as Arizona’s starter at left guard.
If Iupati misses time with the injury, the Cardinals would be without two starters on the offensive line. Right tackle Bobby Massieis suspended for the first three games of the regular season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
