Chicago Bears DL Jeremiah Ratliff suspended three games after DWI
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Jeremiah Ratliff has been suspended three games.
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Jeremiah Ratliff has been suspended three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, the team announced Monday.
The suspension stems from a 2013 DWI arrest in Texas. Ratliff pleaded guilty to the charge in May. He was fined and given a year of probation.
Ratliff will miss games against the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks. He is eligible to return for Chicago's Oct. 4 game against the Oakland Raiders.
Ratliff is entering his 11th season in the NFL, his third with the Bears. Last year, in 11 games, Ratliff recorded 37 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks.
He is in the last year of his contract with the Bears.
