Report: Eagles RB DeMarco Murray to play Sunday despite hamstring injury
Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray will play on Sunday against the New York Jets despite leaving practice early on Thursday with a hamstring injury, reports ESPN’s Ashley Fox.
After practice Thursday, coach Chip Kelly told reporters that Murray was undergoing evaluations and that his status was not yet determined. Tests showed that the injury was not major, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Murray won the 2014 Offensive Player of the Year award before he left the Cowboys to come to Philadelphia on a five-year, $42 million deal this off-season. Through two games in 2015 he has logged just 11 rushing yards on 21 carries with one touchdown.
The Eagles have started their season 0–2 with losses to the Falcons and Cowboys. Their matchup against New York is set to begin at 1:00 ET on Sunday. - Erin Flynn
