Report: Giants to work out wide receivers Wes Welker, Hakeem Nicks
The New York Giants will work out veteran wide receivers Wes Welker and Hakeem Nicks, reports ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Welker, 34, played in 14 games last season for the Denver Broncos, catching 49 passes for 464 yards and two touchdowns. He’s caught over 100 passes and eclipsed 1,000 yards in five of his 11 NFL seasons.
Nicks, 27, played five seasons with the Giants before joining the Indianapolis Colts in 2014. He caught just 38 passes on 78 targets for 405 yards and four touchdowns last year.
It was only two years ago that Nicks held out of Giants camp for a bigger contract before leaving at the end of the year.
