Report: Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews has multiple fractured ribs
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Rishard Matthews has multiple fractured ribs and the timetable for his return is unclear, reports NFL Network's Rand Getlin.
Matthews left the first half of the Dolphins loss to the Jets after taking a hit from safety Calvin Pryor on an incomplete pass. Matthews was ruled out for the rest of the game. In his Monday press conference, Dolphins coach Dan Campbell said Matthews wanted to return to the game even though he had cracked ribs.
Matthews has enjoyed a breakout season in 2015. His 43 catches, 662 and four touchdowns through 11 games are all career highs. Matthews was drafted out of Nevada in the seventh round of the 2012 draft.
