With Andy Dalton done for the day due to a right thumb injury, Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron has been given a chance to prove himself against the divison-rival Steelers.
It didn’t take him long.
Down 13–0 in the second quarter, McCarron heaved a pass deep down the right sideline to wideout A.J. Green, who caught it in stride, and ditched two tacklers to jog into the end zone.
The touchdown pass was the first of McCarron’s career. He is now 2 of 4 on the day for 72 yards passing.
