Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is being linked to potential openings with the San Francisco 49ers or Cleveland Browns, according to multiple reports.

After Kelly was fired on Dec. 29, the 49ers began to consider Kelly for a head coaching position, reports CBSSports.com’s Jason La Confora. Kelly himself has reached out to the 49ers, expressing interest in the potential job, reports Michael Silver of NFL.com. Current 49ers coach Jim Tomsula is not expected to be retained.

Kelly has also been linked to the Cleveland Browns, reports Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio. In 2013, Cleveland interviewed Kelly, but the coach ultimately decided to take a head coaching position with the Eagles. Current Browns coach Mike Pettine could be let go along with general manager Ray Farmer.

Kelly was hired by the Eagles in 2013 after going 46–7 in four seasons at Oregon. He went 10–6 in his first season, winning the division and losing in the NFC Wild Card game, and went 10–6 again in 2014 but missed the playoffs. Kelly was 6–9 with the Eagles this year before being fired.
