New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been cleared to play Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the playoffs, reports Joe Amorosino of News 7 Boston.

Amorosino reports Edelman will wear a steel plate in his shoe to prevent re-breaking his left foot. Edelman sustained the injury in the Patriots’ Week 10 victory over the New York Giants and underwent surgery shortly after.

According to Amorosino, Edelman has had to make adjustments to the way he runs to accommodate his foot.

Despite missing eight regular season games, Edelman still finished second on the Patriots’ roster with 692 receiving yards and seven touchdowns behind team leader Rob Gronkowski. Edelman also logged 281 yards through last year’s playoffs and scored a touchdown in New England’s Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
