Vikings hire former Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur
The Minnesota Vikings have added former Cleveland Browns head coach and Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur to their coaching staff, reports Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Head coach Mike Zimmer has not yet announced what role Shurmur will be undertaking with the team.
Shurmur most recently spent the past three seasons coaching the offense in Philadelphia, and was name interim head coach after Chip Kelly was fired following Week 16. Kelly handled the play-calling duties during their tenure with the franchise.
He coached the Browns in 2011 and 2012, compiling a 9–23 record before being fired.
