Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch could be on the hook for $5 million if he decides to retire this offseason.
As part of the three-year contract extension Lynch signed in March 2015, the 29-year-old was given a $7.5 million signing bonus that will be spread out over the life of the contract.
If Lynch does step away, the Seahawks have the ability to recover the $5 million still owed.

Lynch played in just seven games this season after dealing with a slew of injuries. The power runner has played for the Seahawks since 2010.
