Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy sucker punched a police officer in a Feb. 7 bar fight in Philadelphia, reports WIP’s Angelo Cataldi.

“It was an all-out beat down,” said John McNesby, president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5. “It was a sucker punch to the one officer by LeSean McCoy over a bottle of champagne, and it was an all-out beat down.”

The incident reportedly occurred after a friend of McCoy’s got into an argument with two off-duty police officers over a purchase of alcohol. The argument escalated into a physical altercation between the officers and McCoy’s group, which totaled four people.

“This wasn’t just an assault, this was an aggravated assault,” McNesby said, based on the officers’ injuries from the fight. “So this just wasn’t a pushing and shoving match where you’re separated and off you go. This was serious.”

McCoy has not yet faced any charges for his alleged involvement in the altercation.
