Report: Patriots, QB Tom Brady reach two-year contract extension

The New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady have reached a two-year contract extension, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Dianna Marie Russini.

The extension will reportedly keep the signal caller with the Patriots through 2019.

Brady, 38, passed for 4,770 yards and 36 touchdowns last season. He also completed 64.4% of his passes, en route to leading New England to the AFC Championship Game.

A four-time Super Bowl champion, Brady is also a two-time league MVP and 11-time Pro Bowl selection with 58,028 career passing yards and 428 scores through the air.

Brady, who earned a base salary of $8 million last season, is set to earn $9 million in 2016.

He will be 42 years old when his contract is up.
