The Texans are expected to contact Brock Osweiler’s agent about working on a deal to bring the Broncos quarterback to Houston, reports KUSA’s Mike Klis.

With Peyton Manning slated to announce his retirement on Monday, Osweiler has the opportunity to step up from backup quarterback to full time starter. But with the NFL’s legal tampering period also beginning on Monday, other teams are looking at leaving the Broncos without a quarterback at all.

The Broncos reportedly offered Osweiler a deal for three years and more than $45 million during the exclusive negotiating window. Osweiler—who threw for 1,967 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions in eight games in 2015 while starting in place of the injured Manning—has not accepted the deal and can officially become a free agent on Wednesday.
