The New York Jets have released wide receiver Joe Anderson, the team announced Thursday.

The Jets signed Anderson to the team’s practice squad in December. Just six weeks before he joined New York, Anderson posted a photo of himself standing outside of the Texans' stadium with a sign asking NFL teams for work.

The wide receiver signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Southern in 2012. Anderson played a total of nine games with the Bears over the course of two seasons. He then spent time on the Eagles’ practice squad in 2014.
