Denver Broncos cornerback AqibTalib was hospitalized after being shot at a Dallas night club on Sunday morning, according to multiple reports.
Talib, 30, was one of three people shot at the V Live club following a fight. He is being treated at the Medical City hospital.
Broncos vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth said that the team has been in contact with Talib, who suffered an injury to his leg. Talib said that he expects to be released soon, reports Jeff Legwold of ESPN.
On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the bullet did not damage any arteries or ligaments in Talib’s leg and that the injury only required stitches, not surgery.
The other two victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Dallas Morning News. Police are currently looking for the other people involved in the incident.
Talib is a three-time Pro Bowler and was an integral part of the Broncos defense that helped lead the franchise to a victory over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
