Brock Purdy’s Dad Was Every 49ers Fan During Super Bowl Overtime Drive

Overtime is hard to watch.

Super Bowl LVIII went down to the wire.

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers ended regulation tied 19–19, pushing the game into overtime.

After winning the coin toss, the 49ers elected to take the ball first, hoping to put points on the board and put Kansas City under pressure.

As Brock Purdy led his team down the field, cameras caught his father in the stands. Unsurprisingly, Papa Purdy looked stressed, and even had to close his eyes at moments.

For 49ers fans watching around the world, it was an extremely relatable moment.

San Francisco would manage a field goal on the drive, but it wasn’t enough. On the ensuing possession, Patrick Mahomes marched the Chiefs down the field and connected with Mecole Hardman for a touchdown to win the game, 25–22.
