Who Have New York Giants Met with for Draft Visits?

And more importantly, what can the list of players tell us about how they might be leaning?

The New York Giants don't announce which draft prospects they host for pre-draft visits, but occasionally, the word leaks out.

And while the purpose of the visits is usually to do due diligence on various prospects--diligence done to different degrees, from medicals to all-out interviews--if there is one thing that has emerged from general manager Joe Schoen's two off-seasons with the Giants is that usually those players who come in for a pre-draft visit end up hearing their names called on draft night.

Such was the case last year, as at least four Giants draft picks--cornerback Deonte Banks, center John Michael Schmitz, receiver Jaln Hyatt, and cornerback Tre Hawkins III--were all reported to have had pre-draft visits with the Giants.

For this year, details are still filtering in regarding the 30 draft visits each team is allowed, but for the Giants, one name that has set tongues wagging is Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, whom B/R's Jordan Schultz reported was in for a visit that "included dinner with the front office and a tour of the facility."

The Giants, who per Walter Football, have had meetings with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye, and Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, are clearly doing their due diligence on that prospect that could fall their way if they sit at No. 6.

The second most popular position among those meetings reportedly linked to the Giants is wide receiver, which many still believe will be the Giants' next move at No. 6 if the top quarterbacks are gone.

Among those receivers who have come in for a top-30 visit are the big three: Marvin Harrison, Jr of Ohio State, Malik Nabers of LSU, and Rome Odunze of Washington. USC receiver Brendan Rice also reportedly formally met with the Giants at the combine.

The Giants also reportedly hosted UTEP inside linebacker Tyrice Knight and Washington State cornerback Chau Smith-Wade for top 30 visits. New York is not expected to re-sign inside linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who is not believed to be a fit for new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen's scheme.

The Giants also need depth at cornerback as Adoree' Jackson and Darnay Holmes, both free agents, are not expected back.
