Podcast: Lions Must Make NFL Pay for Officiating Mistake

Could the Lions go on an epic run after controversial loss?

The Detroit Lions and their carefully-crafted young roster are expected to put the controversial loss to the Dallas Cowboys behind them.

Dan Campbell addressed the media two days after officials flagged Detroit, after successfully executing a two-point conversion attempt.

Detroit's third-year head coach is now tasked with preparing for the Minnesota Vikings and having his roster put such an egregious call behind them.

"Honestly, I feel great about it," Campbell expressed to reporters during his Monday media session. "Because, for the most part, until you guys asked me the questions, I’m over it. Like I don’t even want to deal with it. Rod’s handling all of it, he’s got it. And, I don’t even want to deal with it, I’m done. I’m good. I just want to go, and I want to get ready for Minnesota. Our players will be ready to roll. I know they will.”

With the playoffs just around the corner, an opportunity to use the NFL's horrendous history of costing the Lions should be utilized in such a way that the team does not ever allow those donning the black stripes to influence the outcome of another game.

Campbell expressed that he was going to take the "controlled fury" he was feeling and would use the frustrations felt in a positive manner.

The only manner in which the team could actually benefit from losing to the Cowboys is to be as motivated as possible to play its best football in January.

Detroit has one remaining game in the regular season, and will embark on its first playoff journey since 2016.
