New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction for Today: NFL Week 12

This is probably one of the games on this week’s slate where everyone is expecting a low-scoring affair. However, we see it playing out a bit differently. While the defenses featured in this one are strong, they perform much better against the pass than the run, which is evidence that some scoring could surely happen here. New Orleans actually sports the 20th-ranked rush defense in the league, allowing 133.6 yards per game.

With the defenses already in a comfortable position, it’s safe to say that the bye week for both of these teams a week ago had a focus on offense. QB Desmond Ridder is back starting again for Atlanta, which should bring some familiarity to the unit as a whole. With an extra week to prepare, don’t be shocked if we see some trick plays specifically designed for this matchup. The winner does take over first place in the division, after all.

While it’s a bit tougher to trust this New Orleans offense against the Atlanta defense, they’re simply too talented to not break through at some point. QB Derek Carr has weapons like Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave and Taysom Hill at his disposal, and they, as a collective, should be able to score against ATL. When it’s all said and done, our Saints vs. Falcons prediction will side with the over 41.5 (-110) at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Saints vs. Falcons Player Prop Picks & Best Bets Targeting Alvin Kamara & Bijan Robinson

As promised, we also have some Saints vs. Falcons player prop bets to unveil. First, we’ll take a look at New Orleans RB Alvin Kamara. While Atlanta is solid defensively, we think NO will try and utilize him in other ways than just straight runs, such as the passing game. He’s compiled at least five targets in every game this season but one, including a ridiculous 14 on two separate occasions. The Saints should look to feed him in any way they can, so we’ll take Kamara over 4.5 receptions (-115) at DraftKings.

Next, we’ll take a look at a player in the other backfield – Bijan Robinson. New Orleans struggles to contain the run, so he shouldn’t have much issue getting going in this one. He’s strung together three consecutive performances of 50+ rushing yards, including 95 his last time out, while averaging over four yards per carry in each of those contests. Atlanta’s offense is much better when Robinson is toting the rock consistently, so we’ll take him over 57.5 rushing yards (-115) at DraftKings Sportsbook to round out our Saints vs. Falcons player prop bets.

In other Saints news, they brought back receiver Marquez Callaway after Michael Thomas landed on the IR. Callaway signed with the Broncos in the offseason and was cut in August before signing with the Raiders practice squad, where he was released in October. Callaway’s best season came back in 2021, when he posted 46 catches for 698 yards and six touchdowns with New Orleans.
