HOUSTON, Texas — The Tennessee are making their last road trip of the season on Sunday, traveling to Houston to take on the Texans. Good riddance, too.

This has been a tough season for Tennessee. They are just 5-10 this year, and have been eliminated from the playoffs for a couple of weeks. They've only won one road game all season, and that was a shocker, their wild two-touchdown comeback at Miami on Dec. 11.

The rest? It's been a rocky road. They are just 1-6 in true road games, and also lost in London to the Baltimore Ravens, though they were technically the home team. Against the spread away from Nashville, they are just 2-6, covering only in Miami and in the opener at New Orleans.

Betting against them on the road has been profitable. They are underdogs again on Sunday, a 3.5-point underdog according to the SISportsbook.com gambling website. It's a bit higher elsewhere. For instance, they are 4-point underdogs on the Fanduel website as of 8 a.m. CT Sunday. The over/under is 43.5.

Tennessee is used to this role as an underdog. They have been favored only three times all year through the first 16 games — and they only won one of those games. One of those losses was against Houston two weeks ago, when the Texans won 19-16 in overtime. Tennessee was a 3.5-point favorite in that game.

Here's what the Titans have done against the spread so far this season:

  • TOM BREW COLUMN: I've seen enough to know that Will Levis is the quarterback of the future for the Tennessee Titans, and if he didn't play in these final two games, I would have been fine with that. But Mike Vrabel and Levis think there's a lot to gain from playing, so he will Sunday at Houston. Here's to hoping they're right. CLICK HERE
