Ducks' Francois Beauchemin out 4-6 weeks; team acquires Eric Brewer

The Ducks announced Friday they have placed defenseman Francois Beauchemin on injured reserve with a broken finger and acquired defenseman Eric Brewer in a trade with the Lightning.

The Ducks announced Friday they have placed defenseman Francois Beaucheminon injured reserve with a broken finger and acquired defenseman Eric Brewerin a trade with the Lightning. Beachemin is expected to miss four to six weeks. 

Tampa Bay will receive a 2015 third round pick in exchange for Brewer. The Ducks originally acquired the pick in a trade with the Oilers

Beauchemin​ missed five games earlier this month after being diagnosed with the mumps. Defenseman Clayton Stoner is currently on injured reserve with the mumps and is considered day-to-day.

Brewer is fifth among Tampa Bay defensemen in average ice time this season. He has played in 17 of the team's 23 games.
