Tara Lipinksi and Johnny Weir have been promoted to NBC's No. 1 figure skating broadcast team, reports the Chicago Tribune.

The pair drew praise for its commentating work, as well as attention for its fashion choices, at this year's Sochi Olympics, where the duo worked as the network's No. 2 team behind Tom Hammond, Scott Hamilton and Sandra Bezic. Hamilton confirmed to the Tribune that he's been informed he's no longer on the top team, and Bezic congratulated the new top broadcast duo on Twitter.

As in Sochi, Lipinski and Weir will be joined on the team by Terry Gannon.

Lipinski and Weir have appeared for NBC at other events as well since the Olympics, including the Kentucky Derby. The first event for the new No. 1 team will be Skate America at the end of October, of which NBC will broadcast two hours of live coverage on Oct. 26.

Lipinski won the gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics and Weir was a three-time U.S. champion in figure skating.
