Spurs’ Manu Ginobili available for Rio Olympics
San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili is available to play for Argentina during the Rio Olympics, the team announced Thursday.
Ginobila, 38, has not played in international competition in each of the last three summers. He has played for Argentina in the last three Olympic games, helping lead the team to a gold medal in 2004.
In his NBA career, Ginobili has seen his minutes for the Spurs kept low in the later stages of his career. Ginobili’s minutes per game have decreased for five straight seasons, and he has not played more than 70 games since 2011.
