The Cleveland Guardians (62-54) and Detroit Tigers (44-74) kicked off a four-game series at Progressive Field on Monday with a doubleheader. The American League Central foes split those two games and now will meet again on Tuesday night for Game 3 of the series.
It was the Guardians taking the dayside game 4-1. The game was tied heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Cleveland got a boost from second baseman Andres Gimenez, who hit a three-run home run to open things up, Jimenez was 3-of-4 on the day with a double as well as the home run.

The Tigers came back and won Game 2 with a big offensive output. They scored seven runs on 15 hits. Left fielder Kerry Carpenter led the way, going 3-for-4 with a double and home run - both his first of the year - and three runs batted in.
For Tuesday's game, the Tigers will send righty Garrett Hill to the mound. He'll be opposed by righty Zach Plesac.
First pitch on Tuesday is at 7:10 p.m. ET. Coverage begins on NBC-WKYC at 7:00.
