After discovering that USC had 12 kicks blocked last season, new coach Pete Carroll appointed Kennedy Pola, a former USC fullback and linebacker, as special teams and outside linebackers coach. Carroll then sent Pola to pick the brain of New England Patriots assistant Brad Seely, a former NFL Special Teams Coach of the Year.
