LoCascio, a recent University of Massachusetts graduate, set a collegiate lacrosse record of 844 career saves, beating the mark of 766 established by Jamie Molloy of Syracuse in 1977-80. He is a three-time New England player of the year.

MIKO HEMSI
DENVER
Miko, a freshman at Manual High, won the No. 1 girls' singles title at the Colorado state high school tennis meet with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Chris Bowers of Cherry Creek High. She lost only four games this year and had a 16-0 record.

RALEIGH WILSON
LARAMIE, WYO.
Wilson, 39, coached the Laramie Senior High boys' gymnastics team to the Class AAAA state championship. It was the 10th straight such title for the Plainsmen under Wilson's guidance. His teams haven't lost a dual meet since 1980.

KAREN McCARTHY
MONROE, CONN.
Karen, a junior softball outfielder for St. Joseph High, hit three consecutive home runs, including two grand slams in one inning, to lead the Cadettes to an 18-1 win over East Catholic High of Manchester. Her 10 RBIs set a school record.

TRENTON, N.J.
Richard, 7, won the New Jersey and Mid-Atlantic Region archery championships in the cubs (12-and-under) division. He placed first overall in the Atlantic City Archery Classic by scoring 514 (out of 600) in the freestyle limited category.

LAURIE OWENS
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, FLA.
Laurie, a sophomore at Keystone Heights High, won her third consecutive Class AA state title in the 110-yard hurdles. Her time of 14.7 seconds set a Florida girls' high school record. She also placed second in the 330 hurdles (47.3).
