1 Texas has a toughness problem. Yes, a strained calf kept forward Brad Buckman out of the Tennessee game and guard Daniel Gibson (right) only played nine minutes because of a concussion, but that's no excuse for the Longhorns to lose by 17 at home to the unheralded Volunteers--especially coming off that 31-point drubbing by Duke.
2 Arizona's identity needs to come from its defense. The Wildcats (5-3) are on track to have their worst three-point-shooting performance (26.4%) in school history, but they'll overcome that ineptitude as long as they continue to force 22.3 turnovers per game.
3 Go-go George Washington is about to be tested. The 13th-ranked Colonials, who love to run, are 8-0, but they've played only one true road game. Their next two are at No. 21 North Carolina State and Temple, teams that favor a slow tempo.
