SI PICK OF THE WEEK
FRIDAY 10/21
Forrest Thump
Two years ago Vernon Forrest (36-2) was the undisputed king of the welterweight division, a technically refined champ whose potent right hand was often the last thing opponents saw before tasting canvas. After two losses to Ricardo Mayorga (above, left) cost the 2002 Fighter of the Year (right) his belt, three subsequent surgeries on his left elbow and shoulder cost him two prime years of his career. In the second fight of his comeback as a junior middleweight (he beat Sergio Ros in the first), the 34-year-old Forrest takes on Elco Garcia (18-3). Fox Sports Net 10:30 p.m.
FRIDAY 10/21
Champions Tour SBC Championship
Hale Irwin (above) joins a field in San Antonio that will include 26 of the Tour's top 30 money winners. Earlier this month Irwin became the first Champions player to win twice in the same season after turning the big 6-0. Golf Channel 5 p.m.
SUNDAY 10/23
Chargers at Eagles
Will the streak continue? LaDainian Tomlinson has run for at least one TD in 18 consecutive games for San Diego. Philadelphia's rushing D has been porous (it ranks 13th in the NFC) but stingy (just three scores allowed in five games). CBS 1 p.m.
