Troy Dumais pulled himself together for this somersault off the three-meter springboard at the USA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale last Saturday. Dumais finished second (page 78).

Photographer Walter Iooss Jr. began shooting for SPORTS ILLUSTRATED in 1961, and since then he has produced more than 300 SI covers plus 15 books. The latest collection of his work, Athlete, featuring 149 portraits of dominant players such as Michael Jordan (from 1998) and Joe Montana (1991), was published this week.
