SPRING, TEXAS > TRACK AND FIELD

Reese, a senior pole vaulter at Spring High, cleared 17'6" to win the men's open at the Pole Vault Expo Explosion III indoor meet in Belton, Texas, for the No. 1 high school mark this season (through Sunday) and the third-highest indoor mark of all time. The defending Texas 5A state champion, Reese also won the pole vault title at the Great Southwest Classic outdoor meet last June with a height of 17'3".

CANDACE BROWN

HINTON, W.VA. > BASKETBALL

Candace, a 5'9" senior guard at Summers County High, scored 46 points to match her personal best and surpass 1,000 career points in a 74--49 win over Chapmanville. The team's sole returning starter, she is averaging 36.3 points through Sunday, helping the five-time defending state champion Bobcats continue the nation's longest active girls' basketball winning streak: 104, dating to January 2008.

MARK GREY

ROCKAWAY, N.J. > WRESTLING

Mark, a senior at Blair Academy, won the 132-pound class (4--2 over Bethlehem Catholic's Randy Cruz) at the six-round Beast of the East tournament at Delaware, becoming the first wrestler to win four titles in four years at the event. Voted the meet's outstanding wrestler, he was one of five Buccaneers to win his weight class to help Blair take the team title with 321.5 points, 142.5 more than the runner-up.
