Trevor Immelman, 2008 Replay Immelman, 28, led or shared the lead after each round while becoming only the second South African to win the Masters, joining Gary Player. Immelman won by three shots despite shooting a 75 on Sunday, which tied him with Arnold Palmer (1962) for the highest score in the final round by a Masters champion. Postmortem In the four years since his victory, Immelman is winless with only four top 10s on Tour. Charl Schwartzel, 2011 Replay Having begun the final round four shots back, Schwartzel, 26, another South African, became the first Masters champion to birdie the last four holes in the final round. Replay Schwartzel played well in the other three majors in 2011—tying for ninth at the U.S. Open, finishing 16th at the British and placing 12th at the PGA—but he has yet to win again.
