CHECKING INTO THE FANTASY INFIRMARY
ELI BERNSTEIN
June 28, 2012
Before you go all-in on an injured player, make sure you know the latest on the aches and pains that could affect his production
QUARTERBACKS
Peyton MANNING BRONCOS CERVICAL NECK FUSION
AFTER FOUR surgeries and a year off, Manning is ready to take the field for his new team. Reports across-the-board say that he's ready to start the year. Who knows how his body will respond to a hit, but he's QB1 material, even with the rust and injury concerns.
Matt SCHAUB TEXANS RIGHT LISFRANC SPRAIN
SCHAUB UNDERWENT surgery on Nov. 30 for his foot and is set to be ready for 2012. Mobility is not a big part of his game, so minor effects from the injury should not affect his numbers significantly.
RUNNING BACKS
Jahvid BEST LIONS CONCUSSIONS
BEST SHOULD be good to go, but concussions, which knocked him out of 10 games in 2011, are tricky. Another could cause him to miss even more time. If healthy, he'll be a scoring machine for Detroit's high-octane offense, but he's a gamble.
