C WILL MATTE SENIOR

The 6' 2", 290-pound Matte was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list after starting 33 games over his first three seasons. An honorable-mention Freshman All-America, he will anchor a young offensive line that needs to be more consistent.

S MARK MURPHY SOPHOMORE

Murphy's 76 total tackles were the most by any true freshman in the Big Ten. A versatile player, he started six games at safety and three at weakside linebacker. He'll primarily play safety this year.
