The stadiums of the Big Ten—the most worshipped spots on campus—blend tradition, smart details and a homey atmosphere to keep fans making their pilgrimages, time and again
INDELIBLE MOMENT On Nov. 13, 1999, with a 31-yard run, future Heisman winner Ron Dayne broke the NCAA's alltime rushing record (a mark he still holds, with 6,397 yards) as the Badgers secured the conference title with a 41--3 victory over Iowa. They went on to become the first Big Ten team to win back-to-back Rose Bowls.
COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE During the Civil War, the site on which the stadium is built was known as Camp Randall and was used to train more than 70,000 Union troops.
