INDELIBLE MOMENT On Sept. 26, 1970, Penn State came to Boulder with a 23-game winning streak. The Buffs emphatically snapped it 41--13. The highlight: Cliff Branch's 97-yard kick return for a TD to open the second half.
COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE A buffalo first showed his horns at the game against Denver on Nov. 29, 1934, three weeks after the nickname was adopted. Four students rented a buffalo calf for $25. Colorado won 7--0.
