INDELIBLE MOMENT The Play. On Nov. 20, 1982, Cal's last-second, five-lateral, trombone-toppling kickoff return won the Big Game against Stanford 25--20. It is arguably the sport's most famous finish.

COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE As a fund-raising incentive in 1921, Cal offered a $100 voucher that would allow fans to buy two tickets to the Stanford game at $5 apiece for each of the following 10 years.
