Spin Control
VARIED GROOVE CONFIGURATIONS IN MIZUNO'S WEDGES PROVIDE SHOT OPTIONS
Forged from carbon steel and designed with input from short-game wizard Luke Donald, Mizuno's MP-T4 wedges feature groove configurations that vary by loft. The 50°, 52° and 54° models are primarily used from the fairway, so the grooves are deeper and narrower for ironlike control. The grooves in the 56°, 58° and 60° models are wider and shallower to help create spin around the green and from the sand. With weight removed from the toe and heel areas, opening the face is made easier, allowing for additional loft for shots from the sand and the deep rough.
The wider, shallower grooves of Mizuno's higher-lofted wedges (below) are designed to add spin, while narrower, deeper grooves in the lower-lofted wedges provide ironlike control on fuller shots.
