Oderah, a senior forward at Bishop O'Dowd High, the defending California Interscholastic Federation Division III champion, scored 13 of her game-high 20 points and grabbed eight of her 16 rebounds in the final 12 minutes to help the Dragons pull away to a 51--40 win over Archbishop Mitty High, last year's CIF Division II champs. A member of the U-17 national team that won the FIBA worlds in August, Oderah is ranked No. 10 in the class of 2013 by ESPN HoopGurlz. She will compete at Duke.

Jim, a senior kicker at Mainland Regional High, booted three fourth-quarter field goals in a 30--9 victory over Egg Harbor Township to break the state career field goal record with 31. After kicks of 43 and 41 yards, he set the mark on a 30-yarder with 22.9 seconds left on the clock, sealing the Mustangs' third straight win over the Eagles in the schools' annual Thanksgiving Day game. Jim, who will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January, will attend Temple in the fall.

Bergsma, a 6'3" senior outside hitter at Oregon and the American Volleyball Coaches Association national player of the year, had 16 kills and 15 digs to lead the No. 5 Ducks to a 3--1 upset of top-ranked Penn State in the NCAA Division I semifinals and their first appearance in the national championship game, where they fell to Texas. An Academic All-America and the Pac-12 player of the year, at season's end Bergsma ranked in the top five in the country in kills (5.00) and points per set (5.42).
