UNION CITY, N.J. > BASKETBALL

Hallice, a 6'3" senior guard at St. Anthony (Jersey City), scored a game-high 22 points—including six three-pointers—to lead the Friars to a 52--45 win over Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.) in the SNY Invitational final, where he was named MVP. Three days later he had a team-high 18 points on six treys in a 46--37 win over East Brunswick, which capped off St. Anthony's 83-game winning streak. Hallice, who is hitting 62% from beyond the arc, has verbally committed to Oregon State.

MARY BROOKS

FRESNO > WATER POLO

Mary, a junior attacker at Clovis West High, scored six goals to lead the Golden Eagles to a 9--7 victory over top-seeded Clovis for the Central Section Division I championship. She was named All--Valley Division I MVP and is the two-time Tri-River Athletic Conference player of the year. The school-record holder in ejections drawn, with 220, Mary is also a member of the U.S. youth national team and competed at the Youth World Championships in Australia, in December.

JACK CONGER

ROCKVILLE, MD. > SWIMMING

Jack, a senior at Our Lady of Good Counsel High, broke four meet records at the national Catholic high school championships in Baltimore. He had individual wins in the 200-yard individual medley (1:48.18) and the 100 freestyle (44.27) and helped the Falcons to victories in the 200 medley and the 400-free relays. He was fifth in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2012 Olympic trials and set a national age-group mark in the 100-yard backstroke in December (45.32). Jack will swim at Texas next year.
